Production Systems started in 1989 at a time when the focus of most oil and gas companies was maximizing production performance and controlling prices. Lift optimization was not typically dealt with until the well became a “problem well”.
While there were companies that provided detailed analysis of problem wells, Production Systems developed a proactive approach with one goal in mind: provide a service to help oil and gas companies save money by operating their wells more efficiently.
We simply suggested that the operator spend a fraction of the money that they were spending on problem wells, and put it toward identifying wells that were not operating efficiently before they became a problem. Within a few years of continued work and developing the software to manage the process, we began licensing TotalRod™ to our clients.
